Disclosure: we're a HubSpot partner ourselves. We're Diamond, and Kevin is a HubSpot Certified Trainer. So we'll tell you where we stand too, at the end.
- HubSpot has four tiers: Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Elite. Partners without a tier sit below Gold.
- A tier is earned with points per $100 of HubSpot revenue a partner brings in or manages. Diamond and Elite also need client retention. Elite is invite-only.
- A tier measures scale and retention. It doesn't measure whether someone is good at your kind of project.
- Accreditations are more specific: proven experience in one type of work, reviewed by HubSpot. Only Platinum and up can apply.
- Certified Trainer, User Group leader and Community Champion belong to a person, not an agency. They tell you about the person in your portal.
The four tiers
| Tier | What it takes (until 15 Jan 2027) | What changes on 15 Jan 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Gold | 110 sourced points, 325 total | 115 sourced, 345 total |
| Platinum | 325 sourced, 925 total | 425 sourced, 1,275 total |
| Diamond | 950 sourced, 3,100 total, at least 75% average revenue retention | 1,250 sourced, 3,750 total |
| Elite | 2,100 sourced, 9,000 total, at least 80% retention, 100+ staff certifications, invitation | 2,750 sourced, 11,000 total |

Partners without a tier are still HubSpot Solutions Partners. They passed HubSpot's partner certification but haven't reached Gold's numbers, or don't try to.
How a partner earns a tier
HubSpot counts points per $100 of monthly recurring HubSpot revenue (MRR):
- Sourced points: 5 per $100 MRR for deals the partner brings in itself.
- Assisted points: 3 per $100 MRR for helping close a deal HubSpot found.
- Managed points: 1 per $100 MRR for clients the partner looks after.
Sold points expire a year after the deal. Managed points expire 60 days after the partner last did something in the account. Growth markets count double.
In money: to be Diamond from January 2027, a partner needs about $25,000 of newly sourced HubSpot MRR a year in most markets. Elite needs about $55,000.
On top of that:
- Retention. Diamond needs at least 75% average gross revenue retention over twelve months, Elite at least 80%. Cancellations and downgrades both count against it.
- Certification and good standing. Someone at the partner must hold a valid Solutions Partner certification, and there can't be recent escalations the partner caused.
- Elite is by invitation. Hitting the numbers isn't enough. You also need 100+ certifications among your staff and an email from HubSpot.
- Timing. Partners can move up on the 15th of any month. Moving down is checked twice a year, on 15 January and 15 July.
What a tier tells you, and what it doesn't
A tier tells you that a partner sells and keeps HubSpot customers at a certain scale. That counts for something: retention above 75% means clients mostly stay.
What it doesn't tell you:
- Whether they're good at your kind of project. A migration from Salesforce, a custom integration and a website are three different skills. A tier doesn't separate them.
- Who does the work. A high tier often means a big team. That can be great, or it can mean a junior learning on your portal.
- Anything about specialists. Take a freelancer with three large clients, complex projects and happy customers. That freelancer never reaches a high tier, because too few new licences pass through. The other way round, a partner that mostly resells licences can climb fast without ever building anything hard.
So use tier as a first filter for scale, not as a ranking.
Accreditations: proof of one type of work
Accreditations are where HubSpot actually reviews work. HubSpot's accreditation page lists six that are open today:
| Accreditation | For partners who |
|---|---|
| Data Migration | Move legacy CRMs to HubSpot |
| CRM Implementation | Deliver large, complex CRM implementations for upmarket clients |
| Solutions Architecture Design | Design and deliver technically complex solutions |
| Custom Integration | Build custom integrations with HubSpot's developer tools |
| Service Implementation | Implement Service Hub for large, global companies |
| Onboarding | Onboard new Professional and Enterprise customers |
In partner profiles you'll also see older ones, like Content Experience, Platform Enablement and HubSpot Customer Training.
What it takes to get one:
- The partner must be Platinum or higher. Drop below Platinum and the accreditation goes.
- One to five people at the partner must hold the required certifications.
- Case studies and project documentation, for work done by the partner's own full-time employees.
- Client references who are ready to talk to HubSpot.
- HubSpot decides within 30 days. A declined partner can reapply after six months.
That's why the data looks the way it does. Of the 399 partners listed in the UK, only 73 hold any accreditation. None of the 154 untiered partners do, and 1 of the 81 Gold partners.
Read an accreditation as "HubSpot checked this kind of work". A Platinum partner with Data Migration is often a better pick for your migration than an Elite partner without it.
Industry accreditations
Next to the six above, HubSpot accredits partners per industry, such as Software Industry Specialist. A partner applies with cases from that sector, and HubSpot reviews them. These don't show up in the directory's accreditation filter, so check the partner's profile or ask. It tells you the partner knows that sector's way of selling. For a SaaS company: renewals, subscriptions, recurring revenue reporting. We hold the Software Industry Specialist accreditation, granted in July 2026.
Certifications, Certified Trainers and other personal credentials
Everything above belongs to the agency. These belong to a person.
HubSpot Academy certifications. Free online courses with an exam. Anyone can take them, so a long list of certificates says little. They're a minimum, not a signal.
HubSpot Certified Trainer. This is a different level. According to HubSpot Academy, you need to:
- work at a Gold, Platinum, Diamond or Elite partner,
- hold four HubSpot certifications (Inbound, Inbound Sales, Marketing Software and Sales Software),
- apply and be accepted into a class with limited places,
- pass the trainer certification, including a practicum,
- keep delivering HubSpot trainings to stay certified.
The Academy's trainer directory lists 465 Certified Trainers worldwide, 20 of them in the Netherlands (counted 1 November 2026). You can look anyone up in HubSpot's trainer directory.
HubSpot User Group (HUG) leader. HUGs are HubSpot's official local and topic communities. Leaders are approved by HubSpot and run the events. Leaders are listed on events.hubspot.com.
Community Champion. HubSpot's programme for people who help others in the HubSpot Community.
Partner Advisory Councils. Small, invite-only groups of partners that HubSpot asks for input on its product and partner programme. There's no public list, so ask.
None of these make someone right for your project either. But they tell you what a partner's tier can't: whether the person in your portal knows HubSpot deeply enough to teach it.
How to check a partner's credentials yourself
- Tier, reviews, accreditations and industries: the partner's profile in HubSpot's Solutions Directory. Read the lowest reviews first.
- Certified Trainer: search the person's name in the Academy trainer directory.
- HUG leader: the group's page on events.hubspot.com lists its leaders.
- Everything else: ask who will work in your portal, and ask that person what they can show you.

Where we stand
Since we just told you to check, here's ours.
- Tier: Diamond, 5.0 from 53 reviews in HubSpot's directory.
- Accreditation: HubSpot Software Industry Specialist, HubSpot's industry accreditation for software and SaaS companies.
- Kevin, who does the work: HubSpot Certified Trainer, one of 20 in the Netherlands. Leads The ARR Club, the HubSpot User Group for B2B SaaS and recurring revenue. HubSpot Community Champion. Sits on HubSpot's AI Partner Advisory Council.
Why Diamond and not Elite? Elite rewards licence volume and a large certified team. We build on HubSpot rather than resell it, and you work directly with the senior doing the work. That's a choice. Our case studies show what it produces: a CPQ module for Open Systems, an integration covering 15 million contacts for Nineteen Group, Pro Football Academy live in four countries after ten years on a custom platform.
Frequently asked questions
What are the HubSpot partner tiers?
Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Elite, from low to high. Below Gold sit partners without a tier. A partner moves up by earning points for the HubSpot revenue it brings in and manages. Diamond and Elite also need a minimum client retention rate.
How does a HubSpot partner become Elite?
It needs at least 2,100 sourced and 9,000 total points (rising to 2,750 and 11,000 by 15 January 2027), an average gross revenue retention of at least 80%, at least 100 HubSpot certifications among its staff, and an email invitation from HubSpot. Elite is invite-only.
Is an Elite partner better than a Diamond partner?
Not for your project by definition. Elite means more HubSpot revenue and a bigger certified team. It says nothing about whether the people on your project are good at migrations, integrations or your sector. Accreditations, reviews and the person doing the work tell you more.
What is a HubSpot accreditation?
A badge HubSpot gives a partner for proven experience in one type of work, such as Data Migration, Custom Integration or CRM Implementation. Only Platinum, Diamond and Elite partners can apply. They need certified staff, case studies, client references and work done by their own full-time employees. HubSpot decides within 30 days.
What is a HubSpot Certified Trainer?
A person, not an agency, whom HubSpot Academy has accepted to teach HubSpot. You must work at a Gold or higher partner, hold four HubSpot certifications, be accepted into a limited class, pass the trainer certification and keep delivering trainings. The Academy's directory lists 465 worldwide.
Can a freelancer have a high HubSpot tier?
Rarely. Tiers reward new HubSpot revenue and retention at scale. A freelancer with a few large clients and excellent work stays at a low tier, because too few new licences pass through.
